Pitti Uomo is held twice a year in Florence, Italy at the Fortezza da Basso. It is one of the world’s most important fashion platforms for men’s clothing and accessory collections, and for launching new projects in men’s fashion.
The 91st edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo will be held January 10 – 13, 2017.
Last year it was held 14-17 June 2016 and came to an end with attendance figures and feedback that heralded another record-breaking edition: the atmosphere among the stands was filled with energy, the collections abounded in creativity and had all been put together with a keen eye on the market.
The program of special events was defined as extraordinary and spectacular and galvanized the attention of the public of top-tier buyers and journalists. The number of buyers was up +2.5% with respect to the June 2015 edition – which was already a new record with some of the most significant increases in recent seasons – and there were 20,500 buyers in total of which around 8,400 from abroad. Overall the total number of visitors widely exceeded 30,000 mark.
Italy continued along its path to recovery – registering a +3% increase in buyers – with attendance figures that are gradually returning to what they were a few years ago and with representatives from the finest men’s stores present and doing intensive research at the Fortezza da Basso. Germany once again led the top 20 foreign markets with 997 buyers followed by Japan (847), Spain (660), United Kingdom (632), China (505), Holland (450), France (388), Turkey (374), Switzerland (296), Belgium (293), United States (285), South Korea (230), Russia (199), Austria (179), Portugal (164), Denmark (134), Sweden (130), Greece (121), Romania (76) and Norway (76).

The 91st edition of Pitti Uomo marks a step forward in the fair’s evolution. With its events and continually changing geography, Pitti Uomo captures the new vibrations of fashion and transforms them into original projects. The program of special events for January will further overcome the duality between fair and fashion week, moving towards new formats that combine stylistic research, communication and market authenticity. The protagonists will be the great traditional firms that are projecting themselves towards the future, the new fashion design talents and the brands that are on the way up, right up to the new worlds of menswear, even in a geographical sense. And then there is the participation of the big international brands at the Fortezza, the debut of sections like HI Beauty – dedicated to the world of fragrances and personal care, and all the microcosms that portray the styles and the souls of men’s fashion today.
