Wellington Boots or Wellies, have been as traditional to Britain as a hot cup o’ tea! Well, maybe not quite, but they have been around since the early 1800’s and were named after the Duke of Wellington. Back then, this new boot was fabricated in soft calfskin leather, while today they are made of rubber or pvc. The Queen of England and the then Lady Diana wore the traditional hunter green wellies, which helped soar sales to greater heights. This in turn led to a new trend in wellies with an array of colorful patterns.
